Breast Reconstruction

Reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy due to cancer or other disease is quite possible with today's surgical procedures. Using the newest medical techniques, a plastic surgeon is often able to create a breast that is similar in form and appearance to that of the natural breast. A consultation will provide you with information on the many available options for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction which include use of autologous tissue (a woman's own tissues) or breast implants. The latest microsurgical methods are utilized in appropriate candidates.

Breast Reduction

Large, pendulous breasts may cause a woman to potentially experience various medical problems caused by the excessive weight of the breast tissue. Problems with posture, skeletal deformities, back and neck pain, skin irritations and nerve irritations of the fingers are common with this condition. Bra straps often leave indentations in the shoulder area. Women, of all ages may be symptomatic and/or may be self-conscious if they have unusually large breasts. Breast reduction surgery lifts the breasts, creates a smaller and more youthful shape and brings the breast size into proportion with the rest of a patient's frame.

All of the latest methods including liposuction alone, vertical ("European"), or Wise pattern ("American") techniques are offered. In all but rare instances, breast reductions are performed on an outpatient basis.
