Breast augmentation is a very popular procedure for women and among the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures. A silicone-filled or saline-filled implant is inserted through a small incision under the crease in the breast, around the nipple or through the armpit. The implant is preferably placed under both the chest wall muscle and the breast tissue. After surgery, breasts will appear fuller and more shapely in contour. Patient preferences for size and shape are discussed with them in great detail.
Dr. Sultan also has a great deal of experience in correcting less then ideal results of previously performed breast augmentations.
Over time, the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin's natural elasticity begins to have an effect on the appearance of a woman's breasts. These factors, combined with pregnancies and nursing will often cause the breasts to lose their youthful shape and firmness.
A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. The procedure can also reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple). The latest methods including a "vertical" mastopexy are offered. In some cases it is preferable to perform a simultaneous breast augmentation in conjunction with a breast lift. We have a great deal of experience with this combined procedure.
